In 2011, Rhonda joined the FHM teaching staff as the Special Education Teacher for the Learning Resource Team. She holds a Bachelors degree in English and a Colorado & Texas Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Special Education (serving children ages 0-8) and Special Education Generalist (serving ages 5-21).
Rhonda has more than 15 years experience working as a public school Special Education Life-Skills, Resource, Inclusion and Early Childhood teacher and over five years experience working as a Middle and a High School Special Olympics Director and Athletics Coach. In 2005, Rhonda was awarded the North Texas regional Susan Garlucci Award for the 2005 Teacher of the Year and a nominee for the Disneys Teacher of the Year Award for her exceptional Life-Skills program. In 2010, Rhonda was one of three Special Olympics track and field coaches selected for the Nationals Special Olympics Team Texas.
As an FHM employee, Rhonda has served on many committees, including but limited to, Learning Resource Team Instructional Leader, Cheerleading Coach and Summer Camp Co-director and teacher. In 2013, Rhonda was the recipient of the Jeffco Public Schools Values Award for her exemplary performance. As a Colorado transplant, she looks forward to many years serving the children of Free Horizon Montessori.
